This exotic and citrus fruity syrup is awesome poured over pavlova, cheesecake, yogurt or ice cream.
Passionfruit is native to Brazil and Paraguay but grows really well in New Zealand and other moderate climates such as California. It has a thick dark purple skin containing bright orange-yellow pulp and edible black seeds. They're deliciously aromatic and tart. Similar to a granadilla, lilikoi or maracuyá in in South America.
Quick cooking idea: Pan fry salmon (skin side first for 3 minutes on medium-high, flip and give it another 3). When plated, drizzle with Passionfruit Orange Sauce. Serve with roasted fingerling potatoes and steamed broccoli.
For a quick appetizer: pour passionfruit orange syrup over cream cheese and serve with your crackers. You've got a fancy dip in under 60 seconds!
To be a dessert master: try your hand at making the iconic New Zealand dessert, pavlova and pour this over the top!
